Watch Every Fence Line, from the Main Gate to the Far Corner
Bring real-time intelligence to every fence line, gate, and site edge with Roboflow Vision AI for perimeter safety. Built for plants, substations, mines, and job sites where someone who gets through the fence can walk straight into high voltage, moving equipment, or an open edge.
Fence lines and site edges:
- Draw a virtual line along each fence and detect when a person or vehicle crosses it, with tracking so each crossing is counted once.
- Flag people who linger near the fence or a gate, with dwell time measured per zone.
- Detect climbing, cut or damaged fence sections, and gates left open that should be closed.
Gates and access points:
- Detect people and vehicles at each gate and access road, and flag arrivals outside working hours.
- Spot tailgating, where a second vehicle or person follows through an open gate.
- Check that people coming through site gates wear the PPE the site requires, with PPE detection on the same cameras.
Night coverage, alerts, and records:
- Cover dark fence lines with thermal cameras, the same approach used for rail trespass detection.
- Alert security, the control room, or a phone over Slack, email, or text the moment someone crosses the line.
- Save a clip of every intrusion and trend them by fence section, time, and site to plan lighting, fencing, and patrols.
Bring intelligence to every perimeter today. Stop an open gate or a gap in the fence from becoming an injury or a break-in.
Frequently asked questions
What is perimeter safety AI?
Perimeter safety AI uses the cameras along fence lines, gates, and site edges with a trained computer vision model to detect people and vehicles crossing or approaching the perimeter, day and night, and alert security or operations right away. It works alongside safety zone monitoring inside the site and heavy equipment detection on mine sites.
How does perimeter safety AI cut false alarms?
A trained model alerts on people and vehicles, not on swaying branches, rain, or shadows, and tracking and dwell time rules mean an alert fires once per real event. You choose which classes, fence sections, and hours trigger an alert.
How is perimeter safety different from safety zone monitoring?
Perimeter safety watches the edge of the site: fences, gates, and access roads, where no one should be coming in unannounced. Safety zone monitoring watches zones inside the site, such as robot cells, crane drop zones, and forklift aisles, where people are allowed on site but not in that area.
Roboflow serves as the detection engine, and your security and safety teams own the perimeter zones, alert rules, and response.
Can it integrate with our security and alerting systems?
Yes. Roboflow sends events, clips, and images over REST or MQTT, or writes them to a database, so they land in security, video management, and incident systems. Alerts can go to Slack, email, or text, or to a PLC over OPC UA to switch on lights or sound a horn at the fence.
