Verify Every Load at Every Door, from the Staging Lane to the Sealed Trailer
Bring real-time intelligence to every pallet crossing the dock plate with Roboflow Vision AI for dock loading verification. Built for parcel hubs, 3PLs, and distribution centers where one pallet on the wrong trailer means a recovery run, a missed delivery window, and a retailer chargeback.
Right freight, right trailer:
- Read the pallet label, license plate, or barcode as the forklift crosses the dock door and match it to the trailer and route assigned to that door.
- Alert the dock supervisor on a mis-load before the forklift backs out, so the pallet comes off while it is still at the front of the trailer.
- Detect pallets, cages, gaylords, and floor-loaded cartons with a model trained on your own dock footage, including shrink wrap glare and night lighting.
Count and record the load:
- Count pallets and handling units per trailer and compare to the manifest or ASN, flagging shorts and overs before the door closes.
- Capture a load photo at the nose, middle, and tail of the trailer, and a seal photo at close, tied to the trailer and shipment ID.
- Check load quality: leaning stacks, crushed tops, missing load bars, and unused space that trailer fill monitoring can turn into a fill percentage.
Manage staging and the dock flow:
- Watch staging lanes for freight sitting past its cutoff and freight staged in the wrong lane for its door.
- Track dock door states (trailer present, doors open, loading active, idle) so dock supervisors see which doors are behind.
- Send every scan, count, and exception to the WMS or TMS so the shipment record and the photo evidence live together.
Bring intelligence to every dock door today. Stop mis-loads from becoming recovery runs, chargebacks, and claims.
Frequently asked questions
What is dock loading verification with Vision AI?
Dock loading verification with Vision AI uses dock door and trailer cameras and a trained computer vision model to confirm that each pallet or handling unit is going onto the trailer assigned to that door, read its label, count the load against the manifest, and photograph the load and seal. It works alongside outbound scanning, manifest verification, and loading dock safety monitoring on the same cameras, with records that support C-TPAT and retailer compliance programs.
Can Vision AI read pallet labels as a forklift drives through the dock door?
Yes, with the right camera setup. A detection model finds the label on a moving pallet, a tracker follows it through the frame, and an OCR or barcode reader decodes it from the sharpest frame. Label position, shrink wrap glare, and forklift speed all affect read rates, so a pilot on your own doors sets the camera angle and shutter speed before rollout.
Does dock loading verification support C-TPAT and TAPA programs?
Dock loading verification supports the cargo security and documentation expectations of C-TPAT (the US Customs and Border Protection supply chain security program, including container and trailer seal controls) and TAPA FSR and TSR (the Transported Asset Protection Association facility and trucking security standards) by recording what was loaded, when, at which door, and which seal was applied.
Roboflow serves as the verification engine, and your logistics and security teams own the load rules, the exception process, and the records retention policy.
Can it integrate with our WMS, TMS, and yard system?
Yes. Roboflow sends load events, reads, counts, and photos over REST or MQTT, or writes them to a database, so they land in warehouse and transportation systems such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS, and Körber. Door and trailer assignments come from the WMS or yard management system, and mis-load alerts can go to a dock display, a supervisor tablet, or a light at the door.
