Visual Inspection Traceability AI

Save a time-stamped photo and inspection result for every unit, tied to its serial, lot, or batch, ready for any audit or recall.

Metal component engraved with serial number '48213-07' and a 2D barcode, shown with a digital overlay indicating 'pass' status.

Visual Inspection Traceability AI for the Toughest Audits, Recalls, and Customer Claims

  • Deploy Anywhere, Run Everywhere

Record Every Unit, from the First Station to the Customer's Dock

Add a visual record to every unit you make with Roboflow vision AI for visual inspection traceability. Built for manufacturers and food processors where an auditor asks to see the unit, a customer claim needs proof of how a part shipped, and a recall depends on finding exactly which lots were affected.

Capture and identify:

  • Read the serial number, barcode, QR code, or lot code on each unit with industrial OCR and barcode reading, so every image is tied to the right ID.
  • Stamp each inspection with the date, time, station, and line.
  • Save the image with the model's boxes and labels drawn on it, so anyone can see what was checked and what was found.

Store and search:

Audits, claims, and recalls:

  • Show auditors a photo and result for every unit, not a sample from a clipboard check.
  • Answer customer claims with the image of the exact unit or lot as it left the line.
  • Narrow a recall to the affected lots with the image history behind each one, alongside recall prevention.

Bring intelligence to every unit today. Stop missing records from becoming failed audits, lost claims, and recalls wider than they need to be.

Frequently asked questions

What is visual inspection traceability?

Visual inspection traceability uses cameras at each station and a trained computer vision model (opens in a new tab) to inspect every unit, read its serial or lot code, and save a time-stamped image and result to your own systems. It can work alongside pharmaceutical serialization verification, SOP compliance monitoring, and assembly verification.

Where are the images and records stored?

Wherever you choose. Workflows write images and results to an S3 bucket, a Roboflow dataset, or your own systems through a webhook, and can log results to local files on the edge device. Running on the edge or on-prem keeps every image inside your plant network.

Does it support ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, and FSMA traceability?

Visual inspection traceability supports the record-keeping and traceability expected under ISO 9001 (the quality management system standard), IATF 16949 (automotive), AS9100 (aerospace), and the FSMA food traceability rule, with a photo and result for every unit or lot.

Roboflow serves as the inspection and capture engine, and your quality and compliance teams own the record-keeping policies, retention, and audit response.

Can it integrate with our MES, ERP, and quality systems?

Yes. Roboflow sends each unit's ID, result, timestamp, and image over REST (opens in a new tab), MQTT, or OPC UA, or writes it to a database, so the record lands in MES, ERP, and quality management systems next to the rest of the unit's history.
