Verify Every Pallet Before It Leaves the Line, from the First Layer to the Label

Bring real-time intelligence to every pallet coming off the line with Roboflow Vision AI for palletizing verification. Built for manufacturers and distribution centers where a short case, an overhanging layer, a torn wrap, or a missing label becomes a retailer chargeback, a load that shifts in transit, or a pallet rebuilt at the dock.

Pattern and count:

  • Verify the stack pattern and orientation of each layer against the pallet recipe, on robotic and manual palletizers.
  • Count cases per layer and per pallet, and compare to the order, so a short or over pallet is caught before wrapping.
  • Confirm slip sheets and tier sheets are in place between layers where the pattern calls for them.

Load stability and protection:

  • Detect overhang past the pallet edge, leaning stacks, crushed cases, and gaps that make a load unstable.
  • Check stretch wrap coverage, overlap, and tail, and flag tears or loose film after the wrapper.
  • Confirm corner boards, top caps, and straps are present when required, and flag broken or wrong pallet types.

Labels and handoff:

  • Verify a pallet label is present on the required sides at the right height, and read the SSCC barcode and text.
  • Match the label to the pallet contents and order before it moves to staging.
  • Send the pallet record, count, and photos to the WMS so the shipment has evidence at the dock.

Bring intelligence to every pallet today. Stop short counts, unstable loads, and missing labels from becoming chargebacks and claims.

Frequently asked questions

What is palletizing verification with Vision AI?

Palletizing verification with Vision AI uses cameras at the palletizer, stretch wrapper, and label applicator and a trained computer vision model to verify stack pattern, case count, overhang and lean, wrap coverage, and pallet label placement on every outbound pallet. It is the outbound counterpart to depalletizing, and it works alongside pallet counting, pallet barcode scanning, and case packing verification.

Can Vision AI count cases on a fully built pallet?

Yes vision AI can count every case it can see. Outer faces and the top layer are visible, so a model counts cases on each face and layer, and a layer-by-layer count taken while the palletizer builds the pallet covers the cases hidden inside the stack.

Does palletizing verification support GS1 label guidelines and retailer routing guides?

Palletizing verification supports the placement and content expectations of the GS1 Logistic Label Guideline (the standard for SSCC pallet labels, including placement on two adjacent sides) and the pallet build requirements in retailer routing guides and compliance manuals, with image-backed records for ISO 9001 (the quality management system standard).

Roboflow serves as the verification engine, and your packaging, logistics, and customer compliance teams own the pallet specifications and the response to a failed pallet.

Can it integrate with our palletizer, wrapper, and WMS?

Yes. Roboflow writes pass/fail and counts to a PLC tag over OPC UA, Modbus TCP, or MQTT, so a palletizer from FANUC, ABB, Columbia, or Premier Tech, or a wrapper from Lantech, Robopac, or Orion, can stop or divert a failed pallet. Records and photos go over REST or to a database for WMS platforms such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder, and SAP EWM.
