Build Vision AI on IMAGO Smart Cameras

Machine builders choose IMAGO's Vision Cam and Vision Box for rugged, long-lived embedded vision. Roboflow adds custom models trained on your own parts and products.

IMAGO Technologies Cameras AI Vision Solution

IMAGO Technologies has built embedded vision hardware for machine builders for 30 years, developing and testing every product at its site in Friedberg, near Frankfurt. Its smart cameras and vision computers go into food, pharma, packaging, printing, and logistics machines, and IMAGO guarantees component availability for 10+ years, so a machine you design today can still be serviced long after it ships.

The Vision Cam XM2 (opens in a new tab) is a smart camera with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin module inside, running Ubuntu Linux, with 5 to 12 MP area scan sensors (or line scan versions), Gigabit Ethernet, digital I/Os, and optional encoder inputs. For machines with several cameras, the Vision Box AI (opens in a new tab) pairs a Jetson AGX Orin with GigE Vision, USB 3.2, and Camera Link camera inputs in a fanless housing.

  • Featured: Vision Cam XM2 (Jetson Orin smart camera), Vision Box AI (Jetson AGX Orin vision computer)
  • Attributes: Rugged fanless design, 10+ year availability, programmable in Python, C++, and OpenCV, optional HALCON
  • Integration: Roboflow Inference runs on NVIDIA Jetson Orin, the platform inside both products, with results sent over digital I/O or Ethernet

IMAGO builds hardware that lasts as long as the machine it goes into. Roboflow handles the model: label images from your own line, train a detection or segmentation model, and retrain when products change, without hand-writing the vision algorithm.

Want AI without the integration work? Roboflow's AI1 deployment device (opens in a new tab) packages onboard AI compute, integrated lighting, and an industrial camera into a plug-and-play system for real-time computer vision, with no separate camera, lighting, or edge computer to spec.

How to Setup IMAGO Technologies Cameras with AI

IMAGO cameras can be used for computer vision tasks such as object detection, segmentation, and classification. Label images from your line in Roboflow, train a model, then deploy it with Roboflow Inference on NVIDIA Jetson Orin, the platform inside the Vision Cam XM2 and Vision Box AI.

“The vision AI solutions we developed with Roboflow have been a core component of connecting our teams and unlocking their ability to collaborate.”
