Know Where Every Parcel Is, from the Inbound Door to the Outbound Trailer

Bring real-time intelligence to every parcel in the building with Roboflow Vision AI for package tracking. Built for parcel hubs and distribution centers where a scan at induction and a scan at load leave a gap in between, and where a missing package means hours of scrubbing video to find the moment it left the flow.

Follow each parcel across cameras:

  • Detect and track each parcel, bag, and tote through induction, sortation, and staging with a model trained on your own footage and packaging mix.
  • Keep one ID per package as it moves between cameras, linked to the tracking number from the barcode read.
  • Record a handoff event with an image each time a parcel passes a key point: dock, induction, sorter, chute, and trailer.

Catch problems in the flow:

  • Flag a parcel that goes down the wrong chute or lands in the wrong staging lane for its route.
  • Detect a package that leaves the conveyor, falls, or stops moving for longer than expected.
  • Photograph damage at each handoff so claims show where it first appeared, next to damaged carton inspection.

Answer where is it in seconds:

  • Search by tracking number to see the package's path, last known location, and image from each camera.
  • Give claims and customer service a clip for every event instead of a request for hours of video review.
  • Send events to the WMS and sortation system so tracking data and physical movement match.

Bring intelligence to every parcel today. Stop lost packages from becoming claims, long investigations, and unhappy customers.

Frequently asked questions

What is package tracking with Vision AI?

Package tracking with Vision AI uses the dock, induction, sorter, and staging cameras a hub already runs and a trained computer vision model to detect and follow every parcel, keep one ID per package across cameras, and record a handoff event with an image at each key point. Each package's path is searchable by tracking number. It extends parcel sorting computer vision and barcode scanning and tracking to every point between scans.

Can Vision AI follow the same parcel across several cameras?

Yes. A detector finds each parcel, a tracker keeps its ID within one camera, and re-identification matches the package as it moves into the next camera using its size, shape, labels, and timing on the conveyor. Linking the first barcode read to that ID ties the whole path to the tracking number, so every later event is searchable by the number customers and claims teams use.

Does package tracking support C-TPAT and TAPA chain-of-custody requirements?

Package tracking supports the chain-of-custody and security documentation expectations of C-TPAT (the US Customs and Border Protection supply chain security program) and TAPA FSR (the Transported Asset Protection Association facility security requirements) by recording where each package was, when, and with what image, across the whole building.

Roboflow serves as the tracking engine, and your operations, security, and claims teams own the investigation process and records retention.

Can it integrate with our WMS, sortation system, and claims tools?

Yes. Roboflow sends handoff events, locations, and images over REST or MQTT, or writes them to a database, so they feed WMS platforms such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder, and SAP EWM, sortation controls from Honeywell Intelligrated, Vanderlande, and Dematic, and claims or case management tools. The same cameras also support warehouse theft and loss prevention.
