Workplace Safety AI Cameras That Run the Model On-Device

Roboflow AI1 is an industrial camera with an NVIDIA Jetson inside. It spots missing PPE, people in forklift zones, and lockout-tagout misses in real time, and logs every event for your safety audits.

Workplace Safety AI Cameras Vision Solution

A workplace safety AI camera has to do more than record. It needs a sensor sharp enough to see a hard hat or hair net across a work area, compute to run a detection model on site, and a way to raise an alert the moment something is wrong. A standard security camera covers only the first part, which leaves you buying, wiring, and maintaining a separate edge computer for every few cameras.

Roboflow AI1 (opens in a new tab) puts all three in one IP54 unit: an 8 MP sensor (3840 x 2160 at 30 fps), an integrated 8-LED light ring, and an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX that runs the model on the camera itself. Mount it over a line, an aisle, or a loading dock and use it for PPE detection (hard hats, hair nets, vests), forklift and restricted zone monitoring, lockout-tagout checks, and loading dock safety.

  • Featured: Roboflow AI1 (AI1-8MP-4MM): 8 MP sensor, 4 mm lens, NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8 GB, IP54 housing
  • Attributes: On-device inference, integrated lighting, 256 GB local storage, over-the-air model and security updates
  • Integration: Send alerts and events to Slack, to PLCs over OPC UA, MQTT, or Modbus TCP, and to dashboards such as Power BI and Grafana

Start with a pretrained safety model or train one on footage from your own site, build a Workflow that sets your zones and alert rules, and push it to every AI1 from Roboflow Deployment Manager in one update. Each detection becomes a structured, timestamped event, stored on the camera and synced to the cloud, so your safety team has a record for every audit.

Already have cameras on the floor? Roboflow can also run safety models on RTSP and GigE Vision streams from the cameras you already have, so you can add AI1 where coverage is missing and put AI on the rest of your cameras at the same time.

Try the top open and closed source models on frames from your site for free, then deploy a safety Workflow to AI1 that detects missing PPE, watches forklift zones, and sends alerts in real time.

How to Setup Workplace Safety AI Cameras

AI1 mounts at the station and connects over Gigabit Ethernet. Deploy a safety Workflow from Roboflow Deployment Manager, set your zones and alert rules, and AI1 runs it on-device, sending events to Slack, your PLC, or your safety dashboards.

“The vision AI solutions we developed with Roboflow have been a core component of connecting our teams and unlocking their ability to collaborate.”
